GEOALT_TD1996 (V101_TD1996) reports the region of Chad where the respondent was interviewed. Note that the 1996 Chad survey is not representative at this level of geography.

Other sample years have their own sample-specific geography variables. There is also an integrated variable, GEO_TD2004_2014, that provides spatially consistent units over time. Note that the 1996 sample is not included in GEO_TD2004_2014.

Comparability

The 1996 survey is only representative at the level provided in GEO_TD1996, which identifies the capital city, other urban areas, and rural areas.
