Description
ORSPACKAMT reports the amount of the ORS packet the respondent had prepared.
Comparability
Along with slight differences in question wording, ORSPACKAMT varies across samples in the number of response categories. To maximize comparability, IPUMS DHS uses composite coding, with the first digit indicating whether the respondent used the whole packet of ORS or part of a packet. The second digit provides additional detail, if available, about the type of packet used.
Comparability - Standard DHS
ORSPACKAMT is a country-specific variable, and it is not included in any phase of the standard DHS questionnaire.
Universe
- Nepal 1996: Ever-married women age 15-49 who have ever prepared ORS.
- Sudan 1989: Ever-married women age 15-49 who have ever prepared ORS.
