Description

DURMARHUSB2 reports the length (in years) of the female respondent's second marriage or cohabitation. If the marriage is still ongoing, the length of time spent married is reported up until the date of the survey. If the woman is no longer with her second husband/partner, the total length of time spent in her second marriage is reported.

This differs from the related variable DURMARGRP (V513), which reports the number of years elapsed since the woman's first marriage or cohabiting union until the date of the survey interview, in five-year groups. For DURMARGRP, the duration is reported regardless of whether the respondent is still married or in union with her first partner.

DURMARHUSB2 has no comparability problems.
