GEO_MG1992 (V101_MG1992) indicates the region of Madagascar where the respondent was interviewed. DHS units in the 1992 Madagascar survey are equivalent to autonomous provinces.
Other sample years have their own sample-specific geography variables. There is also an integrated variable, GEO_MG1992_2008, that provides spatially consistent units over time.
