Description
GEO_ GH1988_2019 reports the region of Ghana where the respondent was interviewed. The variable is integrated to yield units with consistent boundaries across samples for Ghana.
Labels identify the modern geographic units (regions) contained in each integrated region. Each sample also has its own non-integrated geography variable. The 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008, 2014, 2016, and 2019 samples have greater geographic detail available in their sample-specific variables.

Comparability
In the 1988 Ghana sample, the Northern, Upper West, and Upper East regions combined to form a group of regions.
The 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008, 2014, 2016, and 2019 Ghana surveys have greater geographic detail and do not group regions.
The 2016 and 2019 samples correspond to Malaria Indicators Surveys (MIS).
