Description
For women who believe they are at moderate or great risk of getting HIV/AIDS, AIDHRISKPARS (V869E) indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, they reported believing this because they have many sexual partners.
Comparability
Apart from universe differences, AIDHRISKPARS (V869E) is largely comparable across samples. Most commonly, samples first ask a question about the woman's perceived risk of getting HIV/AIDS, followed by the questions "Why do you think that you have a (moderate/great) chance of getting AIDS? Any other reasons?" or some slight variation.
Comparability - Standard DHS
AIDHRISKPARS (V869E) is included in the standard DHS questionnaire for Phase III.
