Description
For women who are currently married or living with a partner, SXTIMETOHUS (V850) reports how many days, weeks, months, or years have passed since the woman had sexual intercourse with her husband/partner.
IPUMS-DHS users may also be interested in the related variable TIMESINCESEX (V527), which reports the last time the woman had intercourse with any partner.
Comparability
Aside from slight differences in question wording, SXTIMETOHUS (V850) is largely comparable across samples. Most commonly, this question was worded as "When was the last time you had sexual intercourse with (your husband/the man with whom you live)?" or some slight variation.

SXTIMETOHUS (V850) is included in the standard DHS questionnaire for Phase III only.
