HCMCM2 indicates whether the woman reported a religious health center as a source for male condoms. This response category is country-specific to Cameroon.

Some samples in the "HCM" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

HCMCM2 is combined with HCMCM1 (religious hospital) in HCMPRIVMIS (all faith-based health facilities) for the 1998, 2004, and 2011 Cameroon samples. IPUMS-DHS users interested in using HCMCM2 are encouraged to review HCMPRIVMIS for a more comprehensive response category.

Apart from slight universe differences, HCMCM2 has no comparability problems.

Comparability - Standard DHS

An open-ended question on known sources for male condoms is included in the standard DHS questionnaire in Phases III forward.

Though HCMCM2 is a country-specific response, this variable is combined with other responses in HCMPRIVMIS, a variable that encompasses all faith-based health facilities as sources of male condoms.
